Create, edit, or delete a note on Facebook

Just like blogs, Facebook Notes let users write full-length text posts with formatting (which a regular status update doesn’t), tagging and pictures. A note can be considered a more powerful status update.

How to enable Facebook notes on your profile

Step 1: Log into your Facebook

Step 2: Go to your profile by clicking your profile icon in the upper-right corner.

Step 3: Click More below your cover photo and select Notes from the drop-down menu.

Step 4: If you can’t find the Notes section, that means it might not be enabled. To make the Notes section appear on your profile, select Manage Sections from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: Click Notes then click Save.

You can drag to reorder those options.

How to create a new note on Facebook

Step 1: Go to your profile page.

Step 2: Click More and select Notes from the drop-down list.

Step 3: Click + Add Note.

Step 4: A large editor will now appear. Type a title then compose your note and format it.

To add a photo to your note:

Click and select Photo. Then, click Upload New Photo, select a photo from your computer, and click Open.

You can change a photo’s position by hovering over the photo then clicking Left, Center, or Right. You can click      and drag to resize the photo. Click Remove to delete a photo from your note.

To format your text:

Click. You can select one of the following styles: 

•   To change the text to a larger header
• To change the text to a medium header
•  To create a bulleted list
•  To create a numbered list
•  To change the text to a quote
•  To format the text to look like computer code

If you highlight a text, a small menu will pop up. You can make your text bold, italic, mono, or hyperlinked.

Step 5: Select who can see your note.

Step 6: Click Publish when you’re done.

How to edit a note you’ve written on Facebook

Step 1: Go to the Notes section in your profile page.

Step 2: Click a note you want to edit.

Step 3: Click Edit Note in the upper-right corner.

Step 4: Edit your note and click Publish Update.

How to delete a note on Facebook

Step 1: Go to the Notes section in your profile page.

Step 2: Click a note you want to delete.

Step 3: Click Edit Note at the top right.

Step 4: Click Delete at the bottom left.

Step 5: Click Confirm to confirm your action.

Note:

Once you delete a note, you can’t undo it.

You can also select Notes in the Explore section of the left sidebar to see notes that your friends posted recently. If you don’t see it, click See More… to display the full list). From there, you can select My Notes in the upper-right corner to see your notes or click + Write a Note to create a new note.

To see notes you’re tagged in:

Go to the Notes section and click Notes about “your name”.

If you’re tagged in a note that you don’t like, you can hide it from your profile or report it:

Go to the Notes section and click Notes about “your name”. Then, click the title of the note you were tagged in. You can select Hide from Timeline or Report/Remove Tag in the right column.
